For some time now, I’ve been looking for a job in a country that have an economic crisis and constant raising of unemployment rate (around 30% at the moment). An average person would be kinda discouraged from those numbers, but since I come from a country that have constant crisis and unemployment are of 40% or so (even the ones that are employed, most of them are getting really low salary, have bad working conditions, delayed payments, etc) I tend to think positive and know that a person who is talented, have an experience and is dedicated to work shouldn’t have huge problems in finding a job that would even be below his standards.

After applying to more than 300 job positions here in Catalonia, I decided to go a step further and make campaign with newly built page, dedicated to work searching in Barcelona region, with interesting URL and catchy domain name: http://i-need-a-job-in.barcelona-region.com

I started writing about my experience in searching for a job and I shared some of the places where I check for new positions and apply.
I tried to share the website on many social networks that I’m actively using at this time, and most of the traffic came from LinkedIn, which is pretty understandable having the fact that it is a business-related social network.

Although I’m getting many visits from organic searches, 10 days ago, I started campaigns on Google AdWords and Facebook advertising, to get attention from potential employers/recruiters or anyone else who can share my profile with someone who would be interested in it.

Since I’m using strictly targeted audience and low budget, I don’t have that much traffic, but imho it is enough for a start.

I did a really small investment when it comes to this site and campaigns. The domain name, hosting and advertising credit on both Google AdWords and Facebook (each one with $100 USD) costs me around $20 USD and it is enough for at least 1 month.
I also got 1 month LinkedIn premium membership for free, which helped me a lot to expand my network and analyze some search statistics.

I might share those start-up marketing secrets in one of my next posts. I’ll also share some detailed statistics and interview experiences, as well as decent tips for those who are searching for a job and/or are having an interview.
You’ll have honest insight what should you expect, so you can have a clear guide whether you’re on a right track or not.

P.S. I still wasn’t lucky about getting a job, but I hope that something will come up in the very near future :)
